My running list:
In addition to needing the measuring implements (as mentioned earlier), we desperately need a cheese grater.
Those are the absolute needs to cook just about anything; a nice-to-have would be a laundry basket or something to keep dirty clothes in so they don't just pile on the floor.
Good thing our HHE arrives soon. Oh wait...
I mean, we are lucky to have anything at all, but if the point is to tide us over until our stuff arrives, this has kind of been a fail.

Get thee to Ikea, that island of Scandinavian sanity in the hustle and bustle of Beijing. My friends and I used to go and wander around Ikea in the evenings (it's quieter then) when living in China became a little too much to handle. It's the only place I've ever lived where a trip to Ikea could actually be considered therapeutic. Plus, they have air-con.
I still haven't been to Ikea! I really need to go though. I am sort of obsessed.
